About Us

Celebrating 30 years

Since 1994

Mamatoto was started by one mom in search of community. Mamatoto was organized with the goal of bringing moms and babies together – to make friends, find support, information, and advise. Tens of groups have been formed and family bonds and friendships forged. New motherhood (for the first or third time!) is full of new experiences and vulnerabilities. When we come together as a community to support each other we are all better for it.

Not only do we form New Mama Groups every other month, we also support a thriving virtual community, where mamas can post questions, ask for recommendations, offer advise, and connect with other mamas.

As a mother, when we have a little baby we are bombarded with so many choices and confronted with many decisions we don’t know the answers to. Who do we turn to, where do we find the answers, how do we know if we’re doing it right? How do we get children that receive the care and growth they need to be who they are supposed to be and what they need to do? Mamatoto provides a support for this.

BY MAMAS, FOR MAMAS

Volunteer Run

MAMATOTO has been ran exclusively by mama volunteers. When mamas find their MAMATRIBE or support system, it is an awesome and magical thing. Many of these mamas choose to give back to MAMATOTO that has been such a great support system for them. Would you like to give back? Check out our Support MAMATOTO page or reach out to us at mamatotosb@gmail.com.

Our Journey to Become a Non Profit

Up until this point, MAMATOTO has been operating on a shoe string budget. The organization will continue to be volunteer run. However, in order to better serve our mamas and families, we are exploring formal organization. Research has shown that the most important aspect of early childhood is secure attachment. We want to aid and support new parents in fostering that attachment with their babies.

In order to accomplish our goal of becoming a nonprofit organization, we will need the help of the whole MAMATOTO community. If  you love MAMATOTO and MAMATOTO has helped you please consider making a donation of time or money.

We know there are many talented mamas in our community and we would love your help!
